Australian Taekwondo (AT) have unveiled Rebecca Hansen as team manager and Alex Sootho and Benjamin Hartmann as coaches for their upcoming European Competition Tour.

In an advertisement for the management role on their website on December 21, AT said they were looking for a new, experienced and motivated team manager to "coordinate and manage all travel and accommodation logistics in the lead up to the tour as well as provide managerial and administrative support to national coaching director Karim Dighou during the tour".

Hansen will attend the training camp from February 7 to 10 and the Junior Selection Events for the 2018 European President's Cup on February 11, both of which will be held at the Australian Institute of Sport.

The European Competition tour will take place from February 26 to March 20 with approximately 23 players taking part in competitions including the Sofia Open in Bulgaria, the Dutch Open and the Belgium Open.

In June 2017, Australian Taekwondo received an extra AUS$200,000 (£116,000/$157,000/€130,000) in Government funding for the enusing year.

It was announced by the Australian Sports Commission and Australian Institute of Sports that the governing body will be given the money to help increase participation in taekwondo across the country.

Australia entered four athletes into taekwondo competition at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Safwan Khalil, Hayder Shkara, Caroline Marton and Carmen Marton all competed for the country.

Khalil was the most successful, reaching the quarter-finals of the under-58 kilograms event, where he was beaten by Thailand's Tawin Hanprab.
