Oksana Masters of the United States secured a clean sweep of the women's sitting events as cross-country action at the World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup concluded in Oberried in Germany today.

Masters, a double Paralympic Games skiing medallist, claimed victory in the sprint race to complete a perfect outing in the German resort.

The 28-year-old beat Norway's Birgit Skarstein and neutral athlete Mariia Iovleva, silver and bronze medallists respectively, after she produced a dominant performance in the final.

Canada's Brian McKeever, a 10-time Paralympic champion, triumphed in the visually impaired race.

McKeever clinched his second gold in Oberried as he followed up his middle distance triumph by crossing the line in first place.

Vladimir Udaltsov, competing as a neutral athlete due to the suspension of the Russian Paralympic Committee, was second, while Sweden's Zebastian Modin came through to take third.

In the women's visually impaired sprint event, Belarus’ Sviatlana Sakhanenka ended neutral athlete Mikhalina Lysova’s streak of five straight World Cup victories with a surprise triumph.

The Belarusian came out on top in a fascinating battle with Lysova, who was forced to settle for the silver medal.

Bronze was claimed by Carina Edlinger of Austria.

Ukraine dominated the standing events as athletes from the nation topped the podium in the men's and women's sprints.

Grygorii Vovchynskyi was a shock winner of the men's race ahead of Finland’s Ilkka Tuomisto and compatriot Ihor Reptyukh, who finished second and third respectively.

Liudmyla Liashenko was the clear victor in the women's event as she triumphed in all preliminary races on her way to sealing her first World Cup win.

The Ukrainian finished in front of neutral athlete Ekaterina Rumyantseva and Norway’s Vilde Nilsen, second and third respectively, to earn the gold medal.

The event in Oberried continues on Thursday (January 25) as biathlon events come to the fore.
