Hosts Sweden will collide with Paralympic champions Lithuania in the men's group stage of this year's World Goalball Championships after the draw was made in Malmö.

The two nations will play in Group A at the tournament, which will take place at Baltiska Hallen between June 3 and 9.

Algeria, China, Belgium, Argentina, Australia and Turkey have also been drawn in Group A.

Group B features reigning world champions and world number one side Brazil, who won the 2014 edition in Espoo in Finland.

They will play against United States, Canada, Germany, Iran, Egypt, Czech Republic and Japan.

Malmö Mayor Kent Andersson was on hand at the draw at the city's Town Hall to pull the names out of the bowls.

Jannie Hammershoi, the President of organisers the International Blind Sports Federation, was also present as a special guest.

In the women's tournament, Sweden will also meet the Paralympic champions after being selected with Turkey in Group C.

Russia, Japan, Australia and Israel complete the pool.

In Group D, world champions the US will meet world number one side China, Algeria, Canada, Greece and Brazil.

The top four countries from each of the men's and women's groups will reach the quarter-finals.
