Americans Braden Gellenthien and Shawnn Vincent shared the number one ranking in the compound men’s event as qualifying got underway on day one of stage three of the 2017-2018 Indoor Archery World Cup in Nimes.

Gellenthien, a three-time World Championship gold medallist, and Vincent both scored 595 points at the Parc-Expos Hall after hitting 55 tens and five nines each, meaning they both finished top in the compound men division.

Compatriot Steve Anderson was just two points behind them on 594 points with 54 tens and six nines.

Given the United States domination in the men’s event, the women’s compound was a far more mixed affair with athletes from three different countries registering the top three scores.

Belgium's Sarah Prieels, a gold medallist at the Indoor World Cup event in Bangkok in 2016, scored 591 points thanks to 51 tens and nine nines.

Mexico's Linda Ochoa-Anderson just one point behind after 50 tens and 10 nines.

Yesim Bostan of Turkey rounded off the top three with a score of 588 points.
