The World Series of Boxing (WSB) has named Sting as its official equipment supplier for the upcoming season.

The partnership with the high-performance sports equipment leaders follows on from the deal established for the 2017 campaign.

As part of the announcement, Sting has revealed the official glove design for the eighth edition of the WSB.

Emblazoned with the WSB and Sting logos, the glove will have two versions - gold for home matches and black for away matches.

The complete partnership deal includes the provision of all fight equipment used by competitors across the entire season, which is scheduled to begin next month.

"We are happy to extend our partnership with Sting for Season VIII," Franco Falcinelli, interim President of the International Boxing Association, said.

"The quality of their products, as well as this new design will enhance WSB’s image and will contribute to making Season VIII yet another ground-breaking WSB edition."

It is claimed Sting has designed the glove with a visually-striking colour application to represent the uniqueness of the WSB.

Sting has developed it with an advanced quad core system for even weight distribution.

The glove is equipped with Sting’s Neo Gel technology to dissipate strike energy for both the striker and their adversary.

Sting managing director Amir Anis said the company is delighted to be partnering again with the WSB.

"We are proud to be part of the only team boxing competition in the world and we hope the boxers and the fans will enjoy our new gloves design," he added.

Sting was the official boxing supplier for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and will also supply equipment for the Gold 2018 Commonwealth Games in April.

It is claimed the company’s passion for both boxing and innovation makes them the ideal partner for the unique requirements of the WSB competition.

The format for this year's WSB will remain the same from the 2017 edition, with three regional groups being contested before a global play-off.

The Croatian Knights will enter the European group, joining the British Lionhearts, Italia Thunder and France Fighting Roosters, while a team from India will join last year's WSB champions Astana Arlans Kazakhstan, Russia's Patriot Boxing Team and China Dragons in the Asian Group.

The Americas group will contain 2017 silver medallists the Cuba Domadores, Colombia Heroicos and Caciques Venezuela.

Argentina Condors, who finished bottom of the group last season, will not feature in the next campaign.
