India have secured their place in the semi-finals of the Blind Cricket World Cup after beating Nepal by eight wickets in Ajman in the United Arab Emirates today.

The Indians chased down the target set by Nepal, 156 from 37.5 overs, for the loss of just two wickets at the MCC Ground.

Man-of-the-match Ajay Gariya scored 54 off 29 balls and hit six fours, according to the Press Trust of India

Mehender and Rambir were both unbeaten with the former managing 40 off 30 deliveries and the latter 38 off 23.

Prakash Jayaramiah took two of Nepal’s nine wickets for 22 runs.

India are due to meet Bangladesh in the semi-finals at the Ajman Oval on Wednesday (January 17).

Also winning today were Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan defeated Australia by 394 runs after scoring 563, the highest total registered by any team in the history of the Blind Cricket World Cup, at the Ajman Oval. 

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, overcame Bangladesh by five wickets at the Ajman Oval. 

They achieved their winning target of 292 after 31.5 overs.
