India beat tournament host Pakistan by seven wickets in the Blind Cricket World Cup at the Ujman Oval in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Despite the tournament being officially hosted in Pakistan, India’s refusal to travel to the country means that their matches are being hosted in the UAE.

This change in venue meant that Pakistan were missing five of their players for the match as they were unable to obtain visas in time.

For the second time in two matches, India won the toss and elected to put their opponents in to bat.

Pakistan scored 282 for the loss of eight wickets in their 40 overs with Md Jail scoring 90 from 91 balls before retiring hurt.

India, the 2017 Blind T20 World Cup champions, scored their runs very quickly in reply and reached their target of 283 with five overs to spare.

The standout player for India was Deepak Malik who won the Man of the Match award for the second time in the tournament after scoring eight fours on his way to a total of 79.

Venkateshwara Rao also performed excellently for his side, scoring 64.

India’s win means they now top their group, followed by Pakistan.
