Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer of France claimed the men's doubles title at the Sydney International Wheelchair Tennis Open after earning a marathon victory over Britain's Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett.

The French duo, seeded second, fought back from a set down to clinch a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 win in a match which lasted over three hours, at the Blacktown Tennis Centre.

Britain's Lucy Shuker and Yui Kamiji wrapped up the women's doubles crown as they beat top seeds Diede de Groot and Aniek van Koot of The Netherlands 6-4, 6-3.

Paralympic champion Reid and Hewett had earlier clashed in the semi-finals of the men's singles tournament.

Hewett was able to secure his second consecutive win against his compatriot at a major event as he followed up his Wheelchair Tennis Masters triumph with a 6-0, 6-4 success.

The Briton will face seventh seed Shingo Kunieda in the final after the Japanese player overcame compatriot Takashi Sanada 6-4, 6-4.

Japan also have a representative in the women's singles final as top seed Yui Kamiji swept aside third seed Sabine Ellerbrock of Germany 6-1, 6-0 in a one-sided last four encounter.

Kamiji's opponent tomorrow will be Van Koot, a 7-5, 6-4 winner over doubles partner De Groot.

The top two seeds will battle it out for the quad singles crown as American David Wagner and Dylan Alcott of Australia both progressed with semi-final victories.

Wagner, the number one seed, beat Australia's Heath Davidson 6-3, 6-3, while Alcott ousted South African third seed Lucas Sithole 6-1, 6-2.

The tournament in Sydney is due to conclude tomorrow.
