Beijing 2022 have officially opened seven stores in the Chinese capital city to sell merchandise for the Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

The stores are expected to sell around 140 products to the public, which includes badges, keyrings, clothing and commemorative stamps.

Products have already been available for purchase on Beijing 2022's official online store.

Merchandise features the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games logos, which were unveiled last month.

According to sina.com, the stores are located in the Beijing Gift Shop of Wangfujing Gongmei Tower, the National Palace Museum, Zi Heixin Department Store, Caishikou Department Store and its Daxing Branch, Qianmen Street Main Store and the Olympic Park. 

A further five stores are expected to open in Beijing at the Wangfujing Department Store, Xidan Market, Lufthansa Friendship Shopping Mall, Jinyuan Lufthansa Shopping Centre and the National Aquatics Centre later this month.

The cities of Shijiazhuang, Hebei, Shanghai and Nanjing are also expected to open stores by the end of January.

Beijing 2022 unveiled a series of commemorative gold bars at the Caishikou Department Store as part of the opening of their stores.

Pu Xuedong, Beijing 2022's market development minister, claimed the stores had been designed with the same lay-out.

According to the China News Agency, each store has a blue and snow white colour scheme to replicate the "atmosphere" of the Games.

They also contain the Beijing 2022 emblem and posters, which are designed to help bring residents closer to the Games with four years to go.
