
Fernando Parente, a member of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Executive Committee, has been honoured with an award in Portugal.
Parente was presented with the Sports Manager of the Year Award at the Portuguese Association of Sports Management's 18th National Congress in Viseu.
The award was presented to Parente by Fernando Gomes, President of the Portuguese Football Federation.

Gomes is also a vice president of both UEFA and FIFA.
Parente, the director of the Sports and Cultural Department of the University of Minho, was recognised for his work in both national and university sports development in Portugal over the last 30 years.
This 18th edition of the Congress was based on the theme of Sport in the Cities of the Future.
