Competing in front of a home crowd, the German achieved her fifth victory of the season on the back of producing two strong runs.

She finished in a time of 1min 41.397sec to top the standings, with Germany sweeping the podium places.

Dajana Eitberger and world junior champion Jessica Tiebel ended in times of 1:41.500 and 1:41.707 respectively.

Current world champion Tatjana Hüfner was unable to participate in the event due to injury, but the German expects to return next week.

“It’s always great to win in front of my home crowd,” said Geisenberger.

“I was hugely determined because I was really struggling.

“We spent a lot of time in the workshop trying to find the right setup and it paid off in the end.”

Geisenberger now leads the overall standings on 710 points, with Eitberger and Hüfner completing the top three on 518 and 515 respectively.

German supremacy continued in the doubles event, with Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt earning gold in a time of 1:39.961.

They were followed by Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken, who were 0.134 seconds behind their compatriots.

Robin Johannes Geueke and David Gamm were third in 1:40.431 to round off the all-German podium.
