"We have been focused on hiring exceptional people with global experience to take the sport and federation into a new growth period," said IAAF President Sebastian Coe.

"The reforms that have been put in place give the federation and its members, athletes and partners the confidence to move ahead with the changes we need to make in many areas of the sport.

"These individuals join a first-class senior management team, reporting to the chief executive, Olivier Gers, that is able to deliver professional discipline and rigour that will help us evolve and grow the sport.

"Twenty eighteen will be another great year for athletics and we hope that all our athletes, supporters and fans join us on our journey and at our events."

Final interviews are continuing to fill the post of director of communications.

There have been over 40 applications for a position underneath the executive director for communications, Jackie Brock Doyle.

It is hoped that the position will be filled by the end of January.

Chris Turner, who formerly served as deputy director for communications, is taking up a new role as director of IAAF heritage.
