National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (NOCU) President Sergey Bubka has announced the launch of a new social campaign aimed at involving the country’s youngsters in a healthy and active way of life.

It follows on from other social and educational projects which are said to have gained significant popularity in Ukraine, such as "#OlympicLab", "Do Like Olympians" and "Olympic Lesson".

"Not everyone who does sports will become a champion, but all will grow up strong and successful personalities," Bubka said.

The campaign launch was preceded by a social study on youth well-being and the positive impact the Olympic Movement can have.

It was conducted by market research company GfK at the request of the NOCU and supported by the Coca-Cola Company.

Following the results of the study, the NOCU prepared seven short films about Olympic values, together with leading Ukrainian media company FILM.UA Group.

The films supposedly show how sports, human values and team engagement help young people to succeed and enjoy life.

The actors are all either past or present Ukrainian athletes.

They include fencer Olga Kharlan, canoeist Yuriy Cheban, gymnast Oleg Verniaiev, wrestler Zhan Beleniuk, triple jumper Olha Saladuha, diver Illya Kvasha, and judoka Georgii Zantaraia.

The films have already been shown to the public by leading Ukrainian television channels.

The NOCU has also produced DVDs that will be sent to each school in Ukraine to be used in their educational activities.

All educational institutions in the country will be involved in the project through open discussions and master classes, with the participation of well-known Olympians.
