The International Ski Federation (FIS) Freestyle Skiing Ski Cross World Cup is set to resume in Montafon tomorrow following the cancellation of yesterday’s event in Arosa.

Qualification for the men’s and women’s events is scheduled for tomorrow in the Austrian resort and will be followed by the finals on Friday (December 15).

Yesterday’s event in Arosa in Switzerland was cancelled due to poor weather conditions that the FIS believed put the safety of the athletes at risk.

It meant that the qualifying results became the official event results.

Olympic champions Jean-Frédéric Chapuis and Marielle Thompson won the respective men’s and women’s events in Montafon last year.

Canadian Thompson overcame Marielle Berger Sabbatel of France and German pair Heidi Zacher and Daniela Maier in her final.

Frenchman Chapuis, meanwhile, led home a one-two from his nation as Jonas Devouassoux came through to take second.

Marc Bischofberger of Switzerland sealed third.
