Russian success continued at the International Powerlifting Federation Open World Championships as Anna Ryzhkova earned gold in Pilsen.

Competing in the women’s 57 kilogram competition in the Czech city, Ryzhkova dominated proceedings at the Parkhotel Congress Center.

She achieved a total of 212.5kg in the squat discipline, before lifting 140kg in the bench press.

A deadlift of 192.5kg gave the Russian an overall total of 545kg, which saw her top the podium positions.

She was followed by Chinese Taipei’s Wu Hui-Chun, who managed a total of 517.5kg to secure the silver medal.

The podium was rounded off by Kenia Monserrate, with the Ecuadorian lifter completing the event with a combined tally of 515kg.

Ryzhkova's team-mate Natalia Salnikova was crowned winner of the women's 52kg competition.

She managed to lift a total of 505kg across the three disciplines to take gold.

Ecuador’s Vilma Vargas Ochoa achieved a world record squat lift of 218kg to help her claim the silver medal, eventually ending with a total of 498kg.

Chinese Taipei's Huang Yen-Tzu won bronze on 470kg.

Indonesia's Widari Widari emerged as the winner of the under-47kg competition, ending with a combined lift of 475kg.

Japan's Yukako Fukushima and Russia’s Aigul Sitdikova completed the podium places with totals of 472.5kg and 440kg respectively.

Jaroslaw Olech of Poland emerged as the winner of the men's 74kg competition.

He managed a world record overall total of 908kg, aided by an effort of 328kg in the deadlift.

Kazakhstan's Andrey Prokopenko took silver on 882.5kg, with Russia's Sergei Gaischinetc earning bronze with 865kg.
