The host nation enjoyed a dominant day of singles qualification at the Badminton World Federation China Open in Fuzhou.

South Korea's Lee Dong Keun was the only non-Chinese player to progress through to the main draw as the Super Series tournament began at the Haixia Olympic Sports Center.

He beat Feixiang Sun of China 9-21, 21-8, 22-20.

Chinese winners in the men's tournament included Zeqi Zhou, a 21-7, 21-5 winner over Chao Yu Kan of Chinese Taipei.

Pengbo Ren has also advanced after beating Seychelles player Jie Luo 21-10, 21-6.

Ren then had to play for a second time and he beat Indonesia's Sonny Dwi Kuncoro 21-16, 21-19.

Kai Guo continued China's good day by beating Japan's Takuma Ueda 21-19, 21-13.

Three matches were held in women's singles qualifying with China winning in all three.

Li Yun won against compatriot Li Wenmei, 21-8, 21-16.

That was followed by Ji Shuting seeing off Chi Ya Cheng of Chinese Taipei 21-13, 21-10.

Another all-Chinese clash was won by Fangjie Gao against Qin Peng, 21-10, 21-8.

Main draw action is due to start tomorrow.
