Nick Bruce won the final BMX Freestyle Park World Cup event at the season-ending International Festival of Extreme Sports (FISE) World Series leg in Chengdu.

The American delivered a plethora of tricks during his run in the 12-man final, before impressing in the bonus round of the competition, where riders had three opportunities to showcase their best trick.

Bruce would do enough to take the victory with a score of 92.60 points, edging out Australia’s Logan Martin, who finished second on 92.20.

The top three was completed by Colton Walker, with the American cyclist finishing on 88.00.

Venezuela’s Daniel Dhers was confirmed as the overall World Cup winner on a score of 29,500 points, despite failing to make the final in Chengdu.

Martin was second on 28,700, while Britain’s Alex Coleborn finished third in the overall standings on 25,300.

BMX freestyle park was officially added to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games programme earlier this year.

The skateboard street event saw France’s Joseph Garbaccio clinch the victory, with the 19-year-old receiving 76.33 points from the judges.

“I’m pretty nostalgic because my first ever international competition was FISE Chengdu three years ago,” said Garbaccio.

“Where I won as well.”

He finished some way clear of his nearest challenger Konstantin Kabanov, as the Russian scored 71.00.

Czech skateboarder Martin Pek was the bronze medallist on 70.33.

The first International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Parkour World Cup also took place today.

It comes amid an ongoing row over the governance of the sport.

The competition sees men and women race against the clock in speed run events.

The conclusion of the FISE World Series season finale comes just two days before a meeting between the FIG and Parkour Earth, the organisation which claims to be the responsible for the running of the sport.

The two organisations, which have been at the centre of a protracted feud over the governance of parkour in recent months, are set to meet at the FIG's headquarters in Lausanne on Tuesday (November 7).
