Members of the Organising Committee for the 2020 European Universities Games in Belgrade have attended a seminar in Ljubljana.

The event, hosted by the European Universities Sports Association (EUSA), disclosed "vital information" needed to begin preparatory work.

It took place at the Intercontinental Hotel in the Slovenian capital and began with an opening address from EUSA secretary general Matjaz Pecovnik.

Sinisa Jasnic, President of the University Sports Association of Serbia, was among the Organising Committee delegation present.

This was followed by a session exploring relationships between Serbian organisers and the continental body and defining their individual roles and responsibilities.

The EUSA must not be seen as a supervisor, they advised, but as a partner there to assist.

Examples from previous EUSA events were highlighted to help show potential challenges and situations which could arise.

Other elements included aspects related to the EUSA Conference and Gala to be held in conjunction with the European Universities Games.

A question and answer session was also held.

Precise dates for Belgrade 2020 have not yet been confirmed.

The European Universities Games takes place on a biennial basis.

The next edition is taking place next year in Coimbra in Portugal.
