Wrestling Canada has named Chris Reith as the organisation's new marketing and communications manager.

Reith has spent the last three years with Swimming Canada as the marketing, events and communications coordinator.

During his time there he acted as the interim marketing and promotions manager, and was the media liaison for the Canadian team at the International Swimming Federation World Aquatics Championships in Hungary’s capital Budapest earlier this year.

“I’m thrilled to come aboard with Wrestling Canada,” said Reith.

“The organisation has been successful on the Olympic level and proven to be a leader within Canada.

"I’m looking forward to helping grow the popularity of wrestling in the country, and build on the Wrestling Canada brand.”

The marketing and communications manager is a new position created by Wrestling Canada.

Reith will work in close collaboration with Wresting Canada staff members, and the broader wrestling community to "deliver the organisation's marketing and communications activities".

He will be responsible for developing and executing marketing, communications, website and social media programmes.

“We are excited about Chris joining the Wrestling Canada team and the opportunity to provide much needed support and capacity in the area of marketing and communications,” said Tamara Medwidsky, Wrestling Canada executive director.

“Sharing our athlete stories, celebrating their success, and building a stronger Wrestling Canada brand will be some of the key goals and objectives moving forward.”

Reith is set to begin work at the governing body's national office on November 1.
