Argentina will host the very first Under-23 Blind Football World Championships ©IBSA

The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) has announced the dates and venue for the very first Under-23 Blind Football World Championships.

IBSA has awarded the tournament to Argentina and it will be hosted by the Argentine Blind Sports Federation (FADeC). 

Action is due to take place at the High Performance National Training Centre in capital city Buenos Aires.

The competition will begin with the Opening Ceremony and the first group games on April 10 before concluding with the medal matches on April 15.

The tournament will consist of eight teams, including hosts Argentina.

Countries wishing to compete in the tournament should submit an expression of interest to FADeC by November 20.

Each participating nation will have to pay an entry fee of €100 (£89/$118) per person per day.

Invitations were distributed to all IBSA members by FADeC President Domingo Latela.

The High Performance National Training Centre houses the first five-a-side blind football pitch in Argentina with official dimensions.
