An International Ski Federation (FIS) course building clinic is currently being held in the Italian province of South Tyrol.

The governing body state that 60 experts are attending the event, which will see discussions take place on the subject of snowboard cross course building.

Practical and theoretical insights are central to the clinic, the fourth of its kind to be held by the FIS.

Proceedings are taking place at the factory of Italian manufacturer Prinoth in Sterzing.

It is the second consecutive year the event has been hosted by the company, who are an official partner of the FIS.

The focus of the event is to discuss ways of designing fun courses at resorts, which suit both World Cup competitions, as well as the public.

A series of presentations are taking place at the clinic, with designers and builders offering their insight into the process.

There have also been input from World Cup coaches and officials.

Details were also given of the Stelvio glacier in Italy, which has been a regular host of FIS World Cup competitions.
