England made an emphatic start to their European Open Netball Championships title defence by collecting two wins from two matches in Cardiff today.

The Roses looked ominous as they began their search for back-to-back titles at the Sport Wales National Centre.

They first overcame Scotland 61-48 before brushing aside Northern Ireland 75-44 this evening.

In today's third match, hosts Wales recovered from a disappointing opening day defeat to win this afternoon.

The Welsh suffered an agonising one-point defeat to Northern Ireland last night.

A comfortable 61-40 win over invitational side Fiji has put the hosts back on track.

England then defend their 100 per cent record against Fiji in the final tie of the day.

UK public-service broadcaster the BBC has acquired rights to the tournament.

They are showing live coverage and highlights of the event on television, online platforms and via the BBC Sport mobile application.
