The Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) and Latin America’s largest mass media group Globo Group have jointly launched a commemorative stamp to mark the country’s Paralympic Athlete Day.

The stamp was created by television service Globosat Communications’ communications and branding department and is based on three key aspects - strength, excellence and achievements.

Each of them is represented by one visual element.

The celebration of Paralympic Athlete Day included special appearances, both on Globo TV and SporTV, from Para-swimmer Clodoaldo Silva, football-five-a-side player Ricardinho Alves, and track-and-field athletes Yohansson Nascimento and André Rocha.

For those that wanted to get a closer look into the athletes' routines, SporTV devoted an exclusive area to the subject on its website.

SporTV is also scheduled to broadcast different Para-sport events throughout the year.

The live debut will be at the Brazilian Football-five-a-side Championships in Salvador in October.

Brazil won a total of 72 medals when they hosted the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro last year.

Their haul included 14 golds, 29 silvers and 29 bronzes.

It earned them an eighth-place finish in the overall standings.
