Turkey's Hatice Kubra Ilgun defeated Britain's double Olympic champion Jade Jones to win 57 kilograms gold at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Rabat.

The World Championship silver medallist won her first Grand Prix medal of any colour as she proved too strong for the London 2012 and Rio 2016 champion in the Moroccan capital.

Ilgun held off a last-gasp charge from Jones to win 8-6 after a superb display at the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah.

Bronze medals went to Marija Stetic of Croatia and Ah-reum Lee of Korea, with the latter unable to add to her success at the opening Grand Prix leg of the season in Russian capital Moscow.

In the men's 68kg competition reigning world champion Dae-hoon Lee defeated Chinese Taipei's Yu-Jen Huang for gold.

Lee showed phenomenal work-rate to win and clinched a deserved victory which added to his Moscow triumph.

Bronze medals went to Mexico's Saul Gutierez and Javier Perez Polo of Spain.

The third leg of the Grand Prix will take place in British capital London.

Action at the Copper Box Arena will take place between October 20 and 22.
