Czech Republic clinched the Junior Davis Cup title today as the Fed Cup crown went to the United States in Budapest.

The Czech male outfit completed a perfect week at the Hungarian National Tennis Centre in the country's capital city as they beat the US 2-0 in the final.

Jonas Forejtek, who had not dropped a set in singles rubbers all tournament, kept that record going as he beat William Grant 6-4, 7-5 to put his country in front.

Dalibor Svrcina, the Czech number one, then wrapped up the title for the top seeds by breezing past Govind Nanda 6-2, 6-2. 

It completed a good week for the Czech side who beat fourth-seeded Croatia in the semi-final before ending the hopes of the third-seeded US.

The country last won the Junior Davis Cup in 1997 when still competing as Czechoslovakia.

There was something to cheer for the Americans as they wrapped up the women's Fed Cup crown by beating Japan 2-0 in the final.

It was a case of third time lucky for the US who regained the title they last won in 2014 after losing both the 2015 and 2016 finals.

Caty McNally put the top seeds 1-0 in front as she beat Naho Sato 6-3, 6-2.

The title was sealed when Whitney Osuigwe, this year's French Open girls' singles champion, beat Yuki Naito 7-5, 6-3.
