Three races have been added to the International Cycling Union (UCI) Women’s WorldTour for the 2018 season, it has been confirmed.

The UCI have announced the one-day Driedaagse De Panne race in Belgium will be held on March 22, while the three-day Emakumeen Bira will be held in Spain from May 19 to 22.

It was also confirmed the Tour of Guangxi in China will be held on October 21.

The race will bring the 2018 calendar to a conclusion, which begins with the Strade Bianche in Italy on March 3.

The additions mean there will be 23 races on the UCI Women’s WorldTour calendar for the forthcoming season.

It has been confirmed the men’s WorldTour will start in Australia, with the Tour Down Under taking place from January 16 to 21.

The Abu Dhabi Tour has been expanded to a five-day race on the 2018 calendar, but the Tour of Qatar has not returned.

It was cancelled last year, with organisers claiming a supposed lack of financial backing for the race to go ahead.

The Giro d’Italia will be held from May 5 to 27, which will begin with three stages in Israel.

Organisers confirmed the news this week, stating that the first stage would be held in Jerusalem’s Old City.

The Tour de France will take place from July 7 to 29, with the Vuelta a España then taking place between August 25 and September 16.

Racing will draw to a close with the Tour of Guangxi in China, which will be held at the same time as the women’s WorldTour event.

The Road World Championships will take place from September 23 to 30 in Innsbruck, Austria.

The UCI have confirmed no new races will feature on the men’s WorldTour for the forthcoming season.
