The International Ski Federation's Development Programme hosted a summer cross-country training camp in Val di Fiemme in Italy.

Twenty-five young athletes and 14 coaches from 12 developing cross-country nations took part in all, training alongside experts led by Alberto Rigoni, the former coach of the Italian youth team.

Former World Cup athlete Magda Genuin was also on hand to aid the youngsters and inspire them with her stories.

Roller-skiing action and strength training were a key part of the camp, which focussed on improving skills in both the classic and free techniques.

Video analysis and mountain running also took place, alongside other activities.

"During the 10-day camp, weather conditions were beautiful with sunshine every day and mild temperatures which gave the participants excellent training conditions," said camp coordinator Sandro Pertile.

"In addition, the camp included fun social activities to encourage group interaction and team spirit.

"We wish all participants much success for the upcoming season."

Armenia, Bosnia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine were the countries taking part.
