China's Chen Meng will be aiming to seal a third International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Tour title of the season when she lines up in the Austrian Open this week.

Main draw action is due to begin at the Tips Arena in Linz tomorrow and will conclude with a day of finals on Sunday (September 24).

Victorious already this year in both Qatar and Australia, in addition to finishing as runner-up in Japan, Chen is the top seed in Austria.

The world number two is expected to face tough competition in the form of compatriot Sun Yingsha and Japan's Kasumi Ishikawa, who have also both won tournaments this campaign.

Sun won the Japan Open while Ishikawa prevailed at the Bulgaria Open.

Seven of the top eight seeds in the women's draw represent China or Japan.

The number eight seed, however, is Liu Jia of Austria and she will be making her first appearance of the year on the ITTF World Tour on home soil.

Japan's Kenta Matsudaira will be in Linz as he aims to defend his Austrian Open title.

Seeded sixth this time around, Matsudaira is one of two former champions in action alongside China's Fang Bo.

Fang was victorious in 2013 and is the tournament's number three seed this year.

He leads the Chinese challenge and lines up alongside Yan An, the winner of the Hungary Open earlier this year.

Hong Kong’s Wong Chun Ting, the top seed, will be looking to put a disappointing Asian Cup campaign behind him.

He finished in last place in his group, losing to Chinese Taipei's Chuang Chih-Yuan, South Korea's Jeong Sangeun and Iran's Noshad Alamiyan.
