The Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex will host the tournament between October 29 and November 3.

A record $165,000 (£122,000/€138,000) will be on offer in prize money.

French world number one Gregory Gaultier, Egypt's defending champion Karim Abdel Gawad and his compatriot, and two-time winner, Mohamed Elshorbagy are all set to feature.

Last year's Qatar Classic saw Gawad end his wait for a first PSA World Series title.

England's Nick Matthew, the 2009 champion, is also in the field.

Matthew announced yesterday, in a video posted on YouTube, that he will retire following the conclusion of this season.

During his career, Matthew has won three World Championship titles, three Commonwealth Games gold medals and three British Open crowns as part of a haul of 35 PSA World Tour titles.

Egyptian Ramy Ashour will also appear at the Qatar Classic for the first time since the 2011 edition as he returns to the scene of his second and third World Championship triumphs in 2012 and 2014, respectively.

Qatari number one Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi has been awarded the tournament's wildcard spot for the fifth time in-a-row as he aims to progress beyond the opening round for the first time in his career.

In addition to the prize fund, players will also earn points for the World Series standings, where only the top eight players will qualify for a berth at the PSA World Series Finals in June.

The qualifying stages will be held between October 27 and 28, while the main draw starts the following day and finishes with the final on November 3.

The first World Series tournament of the new season is due to take in Philadelphia between October 7 and 14.
