The International Skating Union (ISU) has today launched a new website as it looks ahead to the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic season.

The redesigned site, avaliable at www.isu.org, is part of efforts to "enhance the quality and availability of information to fans, ISU members, media and other stakeholders worldwide".

It has been created with user experience in mind and designed using the latest technology, the ISU said.

Among the improvements claimed are "a more attractive design", a "more engaging experience" and "better search options and navigation throughout the pages".

Two "experiences" are available - a fan experience through the homepage and an institutional experience through the "Inside ISU" section.

The fan experience places more emphasis on photos and videos, with upcoming ISU events given more visibility.

Social media is also said to take "centre stage" while separate sections have been created for the ISU disciplines and competitions.

The institutional experience includes the latest ISU news and communications, as well as information on rules, regulations, officials and anti-doping.

The site is compatible with the latest devices.

"Marketing and promotion of ISU sports is an important part of my mandate as President,"said ISU President Jan Dijkema.

"It is essential to offer a unique experience for fans without forgetting the needs of the skating family.

"I am pleased that the new ISU website will fulfil both of these requirements in time for the all-important Olympic season."
