To mark the success of the 29th Summer Universiade in Taipei, the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC) has hosted the 40th Session of the Olympic Academy at Chientan Youth Activity Centre.

The main topic of the session, "Governance in Sport and the Olympic Movement", explored cooperation models and relations between National Olympic Committees and Governments.

 The Chinese Taipei Olympic Academy Session has been conducted annually for 40 years with the aim of promoting the values of Olympism, 

More than 80 participants, including 20 veterans, who served as group coordinators, gathered at this year’s Session.

They shared and exchanged opinions on various topics during group discussions, including the ancient and modern Olympics, Olympic values, sports education and good governance in sport.

As part of the Session, Chinese Taipei athlete Hsing-Chun Kuo, the gold medalist in women’s weightlifting in last month's Universiade, enlightened young participants by sharing her own experience and expertise and demonstrated the positive impact sport can have on a person’s life.

Apart from the academic lectures, the event also offered a diversity of fun outdoor sports activities.
