Brazil's Agatha Bednarczuk and Eduarda "Duda" Lisboa stand in the way of Germany's reigning world and Olympic champions Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Beach World Tour Finals at the Rothenbaum Stadium in Hamburg after each won semi-finals today.

Bednarczuk and Lisboa are playing in their first season together but produced superb form to defeat fellow Brazilians Larissa França and Talita Antunes.

They triumphed 21-12, 21-12 in an encounter that proved surprisingly straightforward.

Ludwig and Walkenhorst should provide even tougher opposition in front of their home crowd in the final tomorrow.

The dominant pair defeated Canadians Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes 21-15, 21-14 today.

Bednarczuk will seek to avenge defeat in the Olympic final last year to Ludwig and Walkenhorst when she played alongside former partner Barbara Seixas.

Quarter-finals in the corresponding men's draw are due to take place tomorrow.

The highlight should be a rematch of the World Championship final three weeks ago between Evandro Goncalves and Andre Loyola of Brazil and Clemens Doppler and Alexander Horst of Austria.

The men's competition is scheduled to conclude on Sunday (August 27).
