Defending champions and hosts Canada remain undefeated at the Men’s Softball World Championship in Whitehorse after surviving a scare to see off the United States today.

Canada scored all their runs in the sixth inning on their way to registering a 7-1 win in the Pool A encounter at the Pepsi Softball Centre.

The US quickly got on the board with Matthew Ratliff leading the game off with a walk before stealing second.

But their good work ultimately came undone as Ryan Boland doubled to left-centre to score three before two more singles.

Shane Boland then grounded into a double play, but Mathieu Roy was able to score.

The US finally got out of the inning as Bradley Ezekiel grounded out to second.
