Paris 2024 have unveiled more details about their plans to convert the Petit Palais art gallery into a special Athlete Hospitality House during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The historic building lies in the heart of the city, backing onto the River Seine and Champs-Élysées.

It is adjacent to the Grand Palais at which fencing and taekwondo competitions are proposed to take place.

The House will be a place where athletes can relax and enjoy the atmosphere with friends and family outside the Athletes' Village, it is hoped.

"Athletes are the heart and soul of the Games," read a statement.

"Paris 2024 is committed to offering them the best conditions and an extraordinary experience to honour their achievements.

"The Athletes' House will be a central hub for all athletes competing in the Games.

"Situated at the heart of Paris, at the historic and beautiful Petit Palais, it will be entirely dedicated to their well-being; a place to meet family and friends and immerse themselves in the Paris experience.

"A few steps away, Paris and the world's largest Olympic celebration park will be there to welcome them."

The Petit Palais was built for the 1900 Exposition Universelle.

It now houses the City of Paris Museum of Fine Arts.

Paris will be present their 2024 credentials to the full International Olympic Committee (IOC) membership here for the first time on Monday (July 11) at a Candidate City Briefing.

The IOC are then poised to award both the 2024 and 2028 Games to Paris and sole rival Los Angeles at their Session in Lima on September 13.
