Olympic champions Argentina will meet The Netherlands in the final of the Hockey World League semi-final event in London after victories today.

Both nations triumphed in their last four matches to set up the clash in tomorrow’s final at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Argentina were wary of the threat posed by Malaysia, who had surprised India in the quarter-finals.

Lucas Vila eased any nerves for the Olympic champions by giving them a 13th minute lead, before Manuel Brunet added to the advantage in the second half.

Malaysia ensured a dramatic conclusion to the match when Mohammad Saari pulled them back into the contest.

They were unable to find a leveller though as Argentina sealed their place in the final.

Despite backing from their home crowd, England proved unable overcome The Netherlands in their semi-final.

Goals from Mirco Pruijser and Bjorn Kellerman were enough for the Dutch to secure a 2-0 victory.

The final and classification matches will take place tomorrow.
