Laura Asadauskaite will aim to claim the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) World Cup Final title in front of a home crowd in Vilnius.

The Lithuanian, the London 2012 Olympic champion, will be one of the favourites in the women’s competition at Vingis Park.

Asadauskaite will expect to face strong competition from Germany’s Annika Schleu, Russia’s Gulnaz Gubaydullina and South Korea’s Kim Sunwoo as she seeks a third World Cup Final gold, having won the 2012 and 2015 editions.

The world number one could also be challenged by Germany’s Lena Schoeneborn, the Beijing 2008 Olympic champion.

Russia's Alexander Lesun heads to Lithuania as the favourite in the men's event, boasting both the Olympic title from Rio 2016 and the world number one ranking.

Ukraine's Pavlo Tymoshchenko, the Olympic silver medallist, will also be heavily tipped for victory after finishing in the top four positions in each of the four World Cup events this season.

Both the men’s and women’s individual world champions from last year will also compete in Vilnius, with France's Valentin Belaud and Hungary's Sarolta Kovacs included on the start line.

The World Cup final will begin with the women's event tomorrow, with the men's competition following the next day.

The mixed team relay, which the UIPM were unable to see included as an additional event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, will bring the World Cup Final to a close on Sunday (June 25).
