Yeison Lopez Lopez of Colombia secured all three gold medals in the men's 77 kilograms category as action continued at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships in Tokyo.

He claimed a massive victory in the overall stakes with a combined total of 356kg at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Japan's capital.

That came after he placed first in both the snatch and clean and jerk, with best efforts of 161kg and 195kg respectively.

Uzbekistan's Shakhzod Khudayberganov came second overall but was someway behind on 338kg.

He also bagged clean and jerk silver with a best of 186kg.

Clean and jerk bronze was won by South Korea's Sungmin Kim, who lifted 185kg.

In the women's 62kg competition, Ting Huang of China claimed overall honours with 239kg.

She won the clean and jerk with 134kg and was second in the snatch with 105kg.

Ting's compatriot Xiaojing Zhou had to make do with overall silver on 236kg after winning the snatch on 106kg.

Her clean and jerk of 130kg was good enough for silver but she slipped behind her team-mate in the final reckoning.

Romania's Florina-Sorina Hulpan was fourth in the snatch and fifth in the clean and jerk, which proved enough for overall bronze on 213kg, someway behind the Chinese pair.

Colombia's Nathalia Llamosa Mosquera lifted 94kg for snatch bronze, with clean and jerk bronze claimed by Ana Lilia Duran Ayon of Mexico, on 122kg.

Competition will continue tomorrow.
