The National Olympic Committee of Albania (KOKSH) continued to develop their "Olympic Education in the school" project by holding two major events.

Olympic Week and Olympic Day 2017 took place across a host of primary and secondary schools throughout the European country.

The Olympic Week was organised in 13 regional areas which included 312 schools.

Olympic Day took place across 20 cities, with 250 schools and more than 5,000 students involved.

Students took part in a number of activities including popular games and various sporting competitions.

These were organised on different themes each day, including respect, fair play, gender equality and inclusion.

The KOKSH held a special ceremony with their Olympic Day partners following the event's conclusion.

Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Sports, as well as National Sports Federations and physical education teachers, were present.

Eda Caushi, the project coordinator, claimed the activities were the starting point of an important agreement between KOKSH and the country's Ministry of Education and Sports.

It is hoped an Olympic education project will become part of the school curriculum.

KOKSH also gave each participant a prize before unveiling next year's project.

There will be an Olympic-style Torch Relay from the north to the south of the country, involving 13 regions and 13 Olympic weeks.
