Cuba Domadores will continue their attempt at reaching a fourth consecutive World Series of Boxing final when the first legs of the semi-finals take place tomorrow.

Last year's champions will travel south to take on Colombia Heroicos at the Atlantico Plaza Principal De Soledad.

However, the hosts have put together a sensational debut campaign including a memorable win over the Domadores earlier in the competition.

The Cubans bounced back from that defeat to top Group A though and will be hoping to build on an impressive 7-3 quarter-final win over Uzbek Tigers.

Rio 2016 silver medallist light-flyweight Yuberjen Martinez of the Heroicos is unbeaten in four bouts so far this campaign.

One of those victories came against Cuba's Johanys Argilagos and tomorrow he will be facing Jorge Grinan.

The Dominican Republic’s Leonel De Los Santos steps in once more for the hosts at bantamweight and he will face the Domadores’ Javier Ibanez, winner of their group stage bout.

Another Dominican, Elvis Severino Rodriguez, will make his second appearance at light-welterweight for the Colombian franchise against Cuba's Andy Cruz, who is currently unbeaten this season.

Colombian middleweight Jorge Luis Vivas boasted a 100 per cent record in this year’s group stage, a run that included a remarkable win over Olympic Champion Arlen Lopez.

The Cuban will be looking to return to winning after suffering a defeat at the hands of Israil Madrimov of Uzbekistan in the last eight.

In the heavyweight division, Colombia Heroicos’ experienced 37-year-old Deivis Julio Blanco, unbeaten so far this campaign, will go up against Cuba Domadores’ Erislandy Savon.

It was Blanco who brought Savon’s unbeaten run to an end earlier in the competition, but Cuba’s Rio 2016 bronze medallist came back strongly with a superb quarter-final performance against Uzbek Tigers’ Sanjar Tursunov.

The second leg of the first semi-final will take place on June 9.

Tomorrow will also the see the first leg of the second semi-final between the British Lionhearts and Astana Arlans Kazakhstan at the Kostanay Sport Palace.

The two teams met in the semi-final of the competition last year with the British team claiming a 7-3 victory.

First into the ring will be Kazakhstan’s light-flyweight Temirtas Zhussupov, with the 29-year-old looking for a ninth career win in the five-round format when he faces the visitors’ debutant Kiaran MacDonald.

The Arlans also boast the Incheon 2014 Asian Games winner Ilyas Suleimenov at bantamweight.

He moved up a weight category earlier in the year and the 26-year-old Kazakh will be hoping to register his fourth win of the season against another British newcomer, Christopher Bourke.

The light-welterweights Dilmurat Mizhitov and Britain’s Conor Loftus, who is unbeaten this season, will be third into the ring before Kazakhstan’s Abilkhan Amankul meets American draft pick Nikita Ababiy.

The Lionhearts’ New York City-based middleweight is the current youth national champion.

Anton Pinchuk, a 2014 Asian Games winner and recently crowned Asian champion, dominated his first three heavyweight bouts this season before an unexpected defeat to Patriot Boxing Team’s Ilia Kvasnikov of Russia in the quarter-finals.

He meets British Lionhearts’ New Zealand representative David Nyika, who will be buoyed by a sensational debut three weeks ago when he overcame France Fighting Roosters’ Kevin Kuadjovi.

The second leg of the second semi-final will take place on June 8.
