Three men and three women will represent the United States in singles competition at the Winter Olympics in South Korea next year, along with two doubles teams.

Sochi 2014 bronze medallist Erin Hamlin leads the way in the women's category.

The three time Olympian finished fourth in last season's World Cup standings and also won three World Championship medals, including sprint gold.

She will be joined by Emily Sweeney, the 2013 junior world champion, and Summer Britcher.

Britcher posted a time of 43.878sec to set a new track record at Lake Placid in March to beat Hamlin’s mark of 43.912, which she had set two seasons ago in a World Cup race. 

Raychel Germaine, Brittney Arndt and Ashley Farquharson complete the women's squad.

In the doubles category, Matt Mortensen and Jayson Terdiman will compete for one of the two places.

They finished third in last season's final World Cup standings in just their third season together.

The duo also won three World Cup medals last year and World Championship silver in the team relay.

Jake Hyrns and Anthony Espinoza, who finished 15th in last year's World Cup rankings, will be attempting to qualify for their first Olympic Games along with Justin Krewson and Andrew Sherk.

Tucker West finished 22nd in the men's event at Sochi 2014 and will be aiming to improve on that result in South Korea next year. 

West, who recorded two World Cup wins last year, finished seventh in the overall standings. 

Chris Mazdzer, third in the 2015-16 overall World Cup standings, will be hoping to secure his third Olympic berth after competing at Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014.

He finished 13th on both occasions.

Taylor Morris, Jonny Gustafson and John Fennell complete the men's line-up.

Two other men - Sochi Olympian Aidan Kelly and Riley Stohr - were also named to the training group but subsequently decided to leave luge.
