Rio 2016 Paralympic medallist Alyda Norbruis was among the winners as action concluded today at the International Cycling Union (UCI) Para-cycling Road World Cup in Italian town Maniago.

The Netherlands’ Norbruis, who won two golds and one bronze at Rio 2016, came out on top in the women’s C2 road race with a time of 1 hour 37min 48sec.

The 28-year-old finished three seconds clear of nearest challenger Allison Jones of the United States, while Colombia’s Daniela Carolina Munevar Florez was more than two minutes off the pace in third. 

Double Rio 2016 medallist Denise Schindler, meanwhile, was the sole competitor in the women’s C3 road race with the German achieving a time of 1:36:04.

Also winning road race gold today was Australia’s Hannah Macdougall in the women’s C4 and Argentina’s Mariela Analia Delgado in the women’s C5.

Macdougall clocked a time of 2:00:25, which was six seconds faster than runner-up Katell Alencon of France in second and eight seconds quicker than third-placed Jenny Narcisi of Italy.

As for Delgado, she held off the US’s Samantha Bosco and Colombia’s Paula Ossa in a sprint finish.

The Argentinean’s winning time was 2:00:25.
