Morocco continued their dominance at the African Sambo Championships as they won the team competition in the Seychelles today.

Following on from claiming three gold medals yesterday, Morocco added a further two titles today as they finished with a total haul of 12 medals.

Cameroon finished second in the overall medal table, despite having 13 in total.

This is because Morocco's tally included seven golds and five silvers while Cameroon had seven golds but only two silvers as well as four bronzes.

There was also joy for the hosts today as Dominique Dugasse won the Seychelles' first sambo medal of any colour.

Dugasse, the home favourite, was victorious in the men's over-100kg sport sambo event.

Contrary to expectations, Dugasse confidently defeated Tunisia's Zanouni Makrema to claim the gold medal.

Morocco claimed both gold medals in today's combat sambo competitions.

In the 90kg event, Nasser Edderdakom defeated Cameroon's Mikael Chamuel to take the gold medal on his birthday.

There was another duel between Moroccan and Cameroonian athletes in the 80kg bout.

Elussin Zuad, representing Morocco, and Cameroon's Rene Mbongo traded a number of blows throughout the contest.

The Cameroonian was able to deliver two crushing blows to the head but Zuad managed to withstand the pain and pulled out a victory by landing some successful shots in the closing stages.
