The game, developed by French company Gameloft, a subsidiary of Bid Committee partner Vivendi, gives players the ability to instruct a chosen character to run, dodge and jump through Paris.

It includes a backdrop featuring celebration areas, Parisian monuments and competition venues, including the Palace de Versailles, the Eiffel Tower, Stade de France and River Seine.

The characters that users can choose from are double Olympic judo champion Teddy Riner and three-time Paralympic gold medallist Marie-Amélie Le Fur, both of whom are co-chairs of Paris 2024’s Athletes Committee.

Riner has more stamina and power in the game while Le Fur more speed, echoing their "real world" athletic attributes.

"While we are fully engaged in our international promotion phase, we are also actively working alongside our partners," said Paris 2024's co-chairman Tony Estanguet.

"Vivendi is a major supporter of the Paris 2024 Bid and the game, created by their subsidiary Gameloft, allows us to share our vision with a wide global audience.

“Through this fun game, developed to include our top athletes Teddy Riner and Marie-Amélie Le Fur, we will be giving the public the opportunity to discover and really get a sense of our spectacular Parisian concept.”

This launch comes just days after European Athletics officially endorsed the Paris bid for the 2024 Games.

The show of public support came after the French capital was picked by the governing body to host the 2020 European Athletics Championships last week.

Paris is competing against American city Los Angeles for the right to host in 2024.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will elect a host for 2024 at its Session in Peruvian capital Lima on September 13.

However, there is increasing speculation that the IOC may award the 2024 and 2028 Games at the same time.

Both Paris and Los Angeles have insisted they are only interested in the 2024 edition.
