China's Yin Xiaoyan stands in the way of home hope Najlae Karchali in the under-61 kilograms event at the Karate1-Premier League in Morocco's capital Rabat.

Yin, a bronze medal winner at the 2014 Asian Games, battled through to the final after beating Tunisia's Hasanoui Boutheina and then Viola Lallo of Italy.

Karchali was equally impressive today in the bottom half of the draw.

She beat Spaniard Maria Espinosa to reach the final.

There were also two Slovakian finalists in the two heaviest women's kumite divisions today.

Miroslav Kopunova set up a final match against Silva Semeraro of Italy in the under-68kg event.

Team-mate Dominika Tatarova will face Sofia Kloucha of France in the women's over-68kg category.

Turkey produced two finalists in the corresponding men's events.

Two-time world champion Enes Erkan qualified to face Ahmed Elasfar of Egypt in the men's over-84kg contest.

Gunduz Gokhan also excelled in the corresponding under-84kg event.

He will face Azerbaijan's Mamayev Aykhan in the final tomorrow.

A good day for the 2015 European Games hosts also saw Rafael Aghayev reach the under-75kg final.
