Age groups for female players participating in mixed masters events have been revised by the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF).

Under new rules, the eligibility age for female players only has been lowered from 33 to 30 years of age.

This conforms with an existing age group in place for the women's masters division.

Men, however, will still have to be 33 in order to compete in the mixed masters event.

"After lengthy discussion and a unanimous vote in favour, the WFDF Ultimate Committee had recommended that change," said WFDF President Robert Rauch.

"It will bring the eligibility age for females participating in the women's masters and mixed masters divisions to the same level, avoiding unnecessary confusion and inconsistency.

"Unlike raising eligibility ages, lowering the age limit can be done more quickly as no player who was eligible for this division yesterday will not be eligible 'tomorrow."

The change will come into operation immediately.

It will therefore be used at the 2018 WFDF World Masters Ultimate Club Championships, due to take place in Winnipeg, Canada from July 29 to August 4 in 2018.
