Brazil's Douglas Brose is the latest athlete to be featured in the World Karate Federation's (WKF) "Getting to Know" video series.

The two-time world champion details his journey into the sport during the three minute video, as well as outlining his achievements to date.

Brose also displays the Olympic rings tattoo on his leg, reflecting the role he played in getting the sport accepted as an Olympic discipline at Tokyo 2020.

The Brazilian was among those present at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Rio de Janeiro in August, when the sport's addition was confirmed.

"I think my biggest achievement until today is that I can say that somehow I contributed to making karate an Olympic sport," said Brose.

Brose won the men's under-60 kumite world title for the first time back in 2010, before repeating the feat in 2014.

He was able to secure gold at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games in the same weight division, adding to his growing medal haul.

Brose is eager to add to that collection when karate makes its debut at the Olympic Games and the karateka details his ambition in the video.

He also praises the impact and growing popularity of the Karate-1 Premier League format.

The series has been designed to allow fans to find out more and get closer to their favourite athletes, with the programmes produced by International Sports Broadcasting.

Brose's piece is the second in the series, which began with a feature on Spain's Damian Quintero.
