World number one Sir Andy Murray will not be part of Great Britain's Davis Cup team when they take on France in next month's quarter-finals.

The two-time Wimbledon Championship winner has not been included in the squad for their World Group clash on the clay courts at the Kindarena in Rouen as he continues his recovery from an elbow injury.

The 2015 champions have confirmed the side heading over to France will feature Daniel Evans, Kyle Edmund, Jamie Murray and Dominic Inglot.

Their opponents have included Lucas Pouille, Gilles Simon, Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hughes Herbert for the tie, which is due to take place between April 7 and 9.

Murray's absence means Serbian Novak Djokovic will be the highest ranked player in the round as the world number two joins compatriots Viktor Troicki and Dusan Lajovic for their home match against Spain at Belgrade's Aleksandar Nikolic Arena.

Nominated to play for the visitors are Pablo Carreno Busta, Albert Ramos-Vinolas, Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez.

World number 12 David Goffin heads the Belgian side who will host Italy at the Spiroudome de Charleroi.

Alongside Goffin, Steve Darcis, Ruben Bemelmans and Joris de Loore are set to feature for Belgium while Italy, who knocked out reigning champions Argentina in the first round, have selected Paolo Lorenzi, Fabio Fognini, Andreas Seppi and Simone Bolelli for the match.

The other quarter-final is being staged at the Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane between Australia and the United States.

Nick Kyrgios, Jordan Thompson, Sam Groth and John Peers make up the home side while Jack Sock, John Isner, Sam Querrey and Steve Johnson have been picked for the US.
