New Zealand's Jo Edwards cemented her lead of the women's section two standings at the indoor bowls World Cup at the Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club in Shellharbour today.

Edwards, the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, beat Merle Apter of Israel 10-3, 15-2 in her solitary match of today to maintain her dominance in section two of the women's competition.

The 47-year-old currently has 24 points with Scotland's Lesley Doig her nearest rival on 21.

Doig maintained her pressure on Edwards with two wins from two matches.

Her first win was a 12-16, 9-7 success over Singapore's Tammy Tham while Doig also defeated Japan's Masako Satoh 9-7, 13-1.

In section one of the women's competition, Nor Hashimah Ismail of Malaysia maintained her position atop the standings after she got the better of Hajah Salleh of Brunei 17-2, 14-6.

Level with Ismail in first place on 24 points is Guernsey’s Lucy Beere, who beat Obakeng Gaborutwe of Botswana 18-0, 10-5 today.

Australia's Natasha Scott also finds herself on 24 points following a 10-4, 9-4 win over Fiji's Radhika Prasad today.

Scotland's Ronnie Duncan collected three wins from three yesterday to move into the lead in section one of the men's competition. 

He maintained that form by winning both of his matches today.

Su Hong Lam of Macau was Duncan's first victim as the Scot claimed a 9-7, 15-4 win.

He then doubled his tally for the day with a 12-7, 11-6 win over Namibia's Cabous Olivier.

South Africa's Pierre Breitenbach claimed the lead in section two of the men's event yesterday and cemented that with two more wins.

He first defeated Hong Kong's Stanley Lai 8-3, 7-7 before securing a 8-7, 7-4 win over Frans Roberts of The Netherlands.

New Zealand's Ali Forsyth remains in second place in the standings, just three points behind Breitenbach.

Singapore's Melvin Tan lost to Forsyth 18-3, 16-4, before the New Zealander also defeated Scott Roberts of the United States 16-5, 15-0.
