The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) is inviting nominations for inductees into the Fiji Sports Hall of Fame and recipients of the Fiji Olympic Order.

FASANOC convenor Makarita Lenoa described it as "an opportunity to nominate and recognise athletes and administrators who have achieved sporting excellence at the highest level and contributed to the development of sport in Fiji".

The Hall of Fame nomination form can be accessed by clicking here, while the Olympic Order nomination form is available here.

The closing date for receiving nominations is March 3.

The ceremony for the Fiji Sports Hall of Fame and Fiji Olympic Order is due to be held in Nadi on March 31.

As the event was not held last year, any nominations submitted in 2016 and any unsuccessful nominations from previous years must be resubmitted.

Lenoa states that the decision of the judging panel will be final and no debate or correspondence will be entered into.

Vaciseva Tavaga, one of Fiji's and the South Pacific's most outstanding female athletes with her sporting achievements spanning more than 13 years, was inducted into the Fiji Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

Tavaga was the region's sprint queen from 1991 to 1995, winning gold at every regional athletics meet including both Pacific and Oceania competitions in the 100 metres and 200m events.

Her personal best time in the 100m is 11.6sec and in the 200m, 24.07.
