Nicolas Peifer partnered fellow Frenchman Stephane Houdet to the doubles title at the ABN AMRO World Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in Dutch city Rotterdam today, having earlier defeated his compatriot in the semi-finals of the singles competition.

The top seeds overcame Argentina’s Gustavo Fernandez and Great Britain’s Alfie Hewett 7-6, 6-2 to successfully defend their crown.

It came just hours after fourth seed Peifer had beaten top-ranked Houdet 6-3, 7-6 in the penultimate round of the singles event.

Standing between him and victory is Britain's Rio 2016 Paralympic gold medallist Gordon Reid, who defeated Fernandez 6-3, 6-3.

The final is scheduled to take place tomorrow.

Matches in Rotterdam are being played on special wheelchair courts at the Sports Plaza venue.
